smAlbany Small Business Day, Melissa Ward

by admin on July 27, 2010

The second talk of the day (well, the second talk I attended) was given by Melissa Ward of New Ward Development. Her talk, “Why smAll is Cool: Touting your smAllness Online”, discussed concrete ways to develop an effective social media strategy, and covered specific ideas for using social media to build a customer base and connect with those customers. It was a great segue from the last presentation from Lisbeth Calandrino, and covered strategies to engage people through Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, and other tools. Melissa can be found at http://www.newward.com as well as on various social media sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.

Glad you made it to the presentation. It was a little different from my usual gig ;) but I enjoyed it… Lis is a tough follow… hahahaha!

Trish,

Great posts. Your insights are very informative, and I agree that quality content and authentic client engagement are the key ingredients for effective social media campaigns for small businesses.

You really added a lot to the smalbany event, and Larry and I appreciate your efforts. Your tweets were outstanding.

Stay in touch, and let me know if we can be of assistance.

@Tim Glad you enjoy it :)

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and I think some work might even come out of it. Keep me in mind for next year, or for anything else where you think I’d be a good fit!
