Warning: Not safe for lunch

by admin on February 16, 2010

I mentioned yesterday that the Bunker Monkey smashed his hand in the door. A couple of people asked to see a picture of it.

I know.

It’s pretty gross.

Are you sure you want to see it? It’s all black and swollen. Even I don’t like looking at it, and I HAVE to.

Alright, if you’re sure – click here. DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU.

Is that a cutting board? Are you holding your child’s hand down on a cutting board? Where’s the knife? Can I have a bite?

eewww – poor kid! He’s been suffering!

Awwww…. hugs to the Monkey, poor guy!

Bambina,
Remind all these folks that he is NOT in pain. At least, that is what he says. The only time he is in pain is when he has to take the antibiotics! He keeps telling me that they are “poison”! My Boy is a tough cookie. It scares me that he has such a high tolerance for pain.

@David Anyone ever tell you you’re a sick, sick man?

@gurukarm Actually he’s been telling me it doesn’t hurt much. Freak. ;)

@SecondBestDad :) He’ll survive. Remember – he’s the one who bit his nail. Gah!

Bunkerhubby is exactly right – he says he’s not in pain, and he acts like he’s not in pain. This is the same kid who concussed himself on a cement ball outside of Target and cried for about 5 seconds, and was then fine.

BTW did you give him his ABs today sweetie?

@admin I’m not the one with a kid’s hand on a chopping block, sister.

admin February 16, 2010 at 5:11 pm

@David it’s not a chopping block. It’s a tiny cutting board we use for fruit. He only has small hands, after all.

Hope that heals up soon. And that’s mild compared to some of the stuff I’ve seen on the farm.

Yeh, I’m not too worried. Now when he loses a limb? I’ll start to worry ;)

Oooh, ouch! Poor baby. I smashed my thumb in a door once. It didn’t look that bad, but it still hurt like a you-know-what. I hope it heals quickly and doesn’t bug him too much. ):

@Elizabeth It actually looks like he might not lose the nail. Which would be AWESOME, cuz the idea of that is freakin me out! No, it doesn’t seem to be bothering him – it only really bothered him the first couple days, and even then not much.
