I’m late, I’m late!

1223567_clockYes, I’m late. I’ve been trying (not sure if you’ve noticed you SELFISH BASTARDS!) (You know I’m kidding, right? You know I love you all, every one of you, from the bottom of my heart, right? Right. Onward.) to stick to a Monday – Wednesday – Friday schedule with the blog, after posting every weekday for a long time. I already feel badly about not sticking with the daily schedule, but I was running out of things to say, quite honestly, and I was burning out trying to simultaneously keep this website going and ramping up the Simple Meal Plan website. So, I went to a 3-day a week schedule. My plan in the next few weeks is to return to posting every day (it’s actually easier for me, in a way, because I get into the routine and it just becomes another habit).

All that was a long-ass way to say, I’m late. I try to make sure that, at the very least, Monday’s post is up by 6am EST every week, but a combination of factors (which shall be collectively referred to from now on as “the Olympics”) sorta killed the weekend, and then today I had MAJOR technical issues with my ISP and with my newsletter service (which can be quickly summed up as “buh-bye Chromium, welcome back Firefox”). In fact, I was late with just about everything I was supposed to have done today.

Sigh.

But now that I finally have a moment to sit down and talk with y’all, I can tell you about a few of the things going on around the Bunker. First, the Bunker Monkey smashed his thumb in the door last week at school. It’s been looking progressively worse – we brought him to the doctor’s, but she didn’t want to drill it to release the pressure because the boy is known for picking at his scabs, and she worried about possible infection. Fortunately, he has his annual doctor’s appointment on Wednesday, so she’ll get another look at it then.

We’ve also been watching the Olympics. I love figure skating, of course (one of the few areas in which I’m a total girly-girl, although even there I really love the crazy-ass athletic moves), and we’ve been following the various American athletes who are chasing gold medals (go, Apolo! Go, Hannah!). The monkey is off school this week, so he’s been getting to stay up a bit later to watch the Olympic games (which he totally loves). And it’s going to snow tomorrow.

So that’s about it. Guess it’s a good thing I’ve been doing that 3-day a week schedule, hmm? At least until the weather warms up and we can start the garden. Ahhhh, mud! I can’t wait!
